Recreational Classes
Edmond Gymnastics offers a full schedule of recreational classes for the student who is wanting to be active, have a lot of fun and learn some basic skills. The class offerings and times vary somewhat by semester and you can enroll at any time. Check out the full list of classes and times on the "Current Classes" page linked to the left.
GYMNASTICS
Parent-Tot (18 months - 3 year olds)
45 minute classes
Mom or Dad get to participate! This class focuses on our young athletes learning some basics of agility, balance, body awareness and hand and eye coordination.
Preschool (3 & 4 year olds)
Athletes begin to work with coaches on their own, continuing to work on coordination, gross motor skills and spacial and kinesthetic awareness.
Level 1 (5 years & older)
Athletes begin to learn some of the basic skills needed to advance in levels towards becoming a competitive gymnast
Level 3 (5 years & older)
Skills Required
Continuing to refine skills learned at Levels 1 & 2 as well as add more advanced skills, Level 3 is the highest level of recreational gymnastics.
Level 2 (5 years & older)
Skills Required
Level 2 athletes must exhibit competency in basic skills. Athletes may train at Level 2 on the recommendation of their Level 1 coach or based on initial assessment.
Boy's Class
EGA also offers a recreational gymnastics class designed for training boys in the unique skills required for upper-level competition.
TUMBLING
Tumbling 1 (5 years & older)
Introduction to basic tumbling skills needed for dance solos and cheerleading.
Tumbling 2 / Dance Acro
Second level of tumbling geared towards dancers learning skills for solos and cheer. Athletes should have a good grasp on backhandsprings to advance to more difficult skills.
Tumbling 3
Skills Required
More advanced tumbling skills required for this higher level class. Athletes must be able to execute a back tuck in order to enroll in Tumbling 3.
